Comparison of Different Coordinates Formulation for Efficient Modeling of a Vehicle Suspension System

ABSTRACT: In the work here presented different coordinates have been adopted for assembling the multibody model of a vehicle suspension system with the purpose of comparing them in terms of numerical efficiency. Four different numerical integration schemes are also adopted in order to assess the potential benefits and applicability for real-time and Hardware in the Loop (HiL) applications. Methods for automatically switching from a given coordinate set to another are investigated in order to draw guidelines for the practical implementation and exploitation of the advantages of each formulation.
